Navigating Japanese Car Auction Bidding with Ease

Bidding operates similarly to any other auction, where the highest bidder emerges as the winner. However, it's important to note that in most auction houses, the bids placed are proxy bids. This means that the maximum bid you enter may not necessarily be the final amount you pay, and typically ends up being lower. For instance, if you are willing to bid a maximum of 800,000 yen on a car and the next highest bid from other bidders is 700,000 yen, you would secure the car for 703,000 yen (with a minimum bid increase of 3,000 yen). Only if other buyers were ready to reach a bid of 800,000 yen would the car ultimately cost the full amount.

Therefore, the maximum budget you provide does not automatically imply that you will pay that entire sum, but rather represents the highest potential scenario. To participate in the car bidding process, all you need to do is place your bid to match your maximum budget on car purchase excluding the other fees. When you going to place a bid on our auction portal rough estimate of the cost breakdown is shown. Please note that all prices are converted from JPY to AUD using realtime conversion rate for easier judgement.
